Event presentation
The Essaouira Investor Day is organized by the Regional Investment Center of Marrakech-Safi (CRI) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group and the leading development institution focused on the private sector in emerging countries.
This high-level meeting highlights the investment opportunities offered by the Region, and more specifically the Province of Essaouira, in sectors with high growth and job creation potential, such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energies, ecotourism and the creative and cultural industries.
Over 300 participants attended the conference, which brought together representatives of the Moroccan government, key players from the Moroccan and international public and private sectors, as well as several members of the IFC management team, including IFC's Director for North Africa and the Horn of Africa, Cheick-Oumar Sylla.
The event is part of the partnership launched in 2018 between the CRI of the Marrakech-Safi region and IFC aimed at strengthening the business environment and promoting private investment in the region.
This is the fifth “Investor Day” following the success of those held in Marrakech, Safi, Rhamna and Guelmim-Oued Noun, a concept initiated and created by the Marrakech-Safi Regional Investment Center as part of its mission to promote the region and demonstrating IFC's support for the advanced regionalization process undertaken by the Moroccan government to promote territorial development and, thus, contribute to the realization of Morocco's ambitious decentralization program.
